You can create decks, study with spaced repetition, practice with the AI tutor, join study groups, and use every other feature without limitations. If Dialect isn’t the right fit, the trial simply expires on its own — there are no charges and nothing to cancel.

Yes. You can switch between monthly and annual billing from the billing portal in your subscription settings. Switching from monthly to annual locks in the lower rate of $4/month (billed as $48/year).

Dialect supports 180+ ISO-standard languages. All of them get flashcards, spaced repetition, and AI chat practice. The 40 featured languages go a step further with suggested card attributes tailored to that language and a dedicated AI tutor configuration that shapes the chat experience.

Yes. Dialect supports bulk import from CSV, JSON, Anki Text (.txt), and Anki Package (.apkg) formats. You can bring over decks from Anki, Quizlet exports, or any spreadsheet you’ve been maintaining. During import, you map columns from your file to the fields in your deck, so your data ends up in the right place.

Yes, you can export your flashcard decks in CSV, JSON, and APKG formats from the Data and Storage section in Settings. Your data belongs to you, and exports remain available even if your subscription has expired, so you always have access to the content you’ve created.

When you cancel, your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period — you don’t lose access immediately. After that period ends, your account switches to read-only mode. All of your decks, cards, progress history, and account data are preserved indefinitely unless you delete your account. You can still view your decks, check your stats, browse the leaderboard, and export your data. Features like studying, AI chat, the forum, and study groups require an active subscription to use. You can resubscribe at any time to pick up where you left off.
